What is a Fortunity Accounting Cadetship? A Fortunity Accounting Cadetship is a way of gaining hands-on experience while studying at university.

How does it work? A Fortunity Accounting Cadetship allows you to combine full time work with part time study. Generally, our cadets complete a Bachelor of Management (BMgt) degree at the University of Newcastle, Central Coast campus. By undertaking two subjects per semester their degree is complete in six years. Some cadets choose to accelerate their degree completion by completing three subjects per semester or undertaking additional subjects at summer school or via correspondence.

Why would I want to work while going to uni rather than just complete uni and then start my career? Our cadets choose to work while going to uni for many reasons. The most common of which is that they recognise that gaining hands on experience at the same time as studying provides the opportunity to reinforce what is learnt at uni. They also realise that at the end of their degree they will have six years experience resulting in a greater earning capacity opposed to someone who completed university prior to finding a job who would only have three years experience at the same point in time.

What happens when I complete my degree? Unlike an apprenticeship the employment relationship between Fortunity and our cadets does not end at the completion of a Fortunity Accounting Cadetship. A Fortunity Accounting Cadetship is simply the beginning stage of what we hope to be a long and successful career with Fortunity. Many of our cadets have gone on to complete their CA Program and become Senior Accountants, Assistant Managers and Managers at Fortunity.
