We have a Sulman Prize entry on our hands
We recently commissioned Peter to create a painting to represent our proud Sponsorship of Surf Life Saving Central Coast. It is a tribute to those community minded Lifesavers who volunteer their precious time and effort to keep our beaches safe for swimmers, surfers and other recreational users.
Peter acknowledges the surf crew: ‘my thanks go to the Toowoon Bay Surf Club members who allowed me access to their training sessions and for staging the rescue drill.’
He explains that the painting does not fit into any single classification and could be described as ‘a Still Life, Portrait, Landscape, Figurative work incorporating Light, Space, Atmosphere, Time and Movement.’
Peter has entered our piece in the Sulman Prize 2016 and we wish him every success. One of Australia’s longest running art awards, the Sulman Prize is currently being conducted at the Art Gallery of NSW. We are hoping to have this art piece grace our office walls in Erina, however we may have to wait as Peter could very well come away with this valuable prize for the second time in his career.
